सकरी नदी में कटाव को रोकने और ग्रामीणों को बाढ़ से सुरक्षा देने के उद्देश्य से आज ग्राम कोडार में 4.08 करोड़ रुपए की लागत से 250 मीटर लंबे तटबंध निर्माण कार्य का भूमिपूजन उप मुख्यमंत्री श्री विजय शर्मा ने किया। इस महत्वपूर्ण परियोजना से ग्राम कोडार के नदी किनारे बसे मकान सुरक्षित होंगे, कटाव की समस्या पर नियंत्रण मिलेगा और ग्रामीणों को निस्तारी की बेहतर सुविधा उपलब्ध होगी।

उप मुख्यमंत्री श्री शर्मा ने ग्राम रेगाखार पंचायत के आश्रित ग्राम कोडार में आयोजित कार्यक्रम में विधिवत पूजा-अर्चना कर निर्माण कार्य का शुभारंभ किया। इस दौरान उन्होंने कहा कि राज्य सरकार ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों के विकास और नागरिकों की सुरक्षा को सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता दे रही है। सकरी नदी के किनारे लगातार हो रहे कटाव से ग्रामीणों को लंबे समय से परेशानी हो रही थी, जिसे ध्यान में रखते हुए इस तटबंध निर्माण की स्वीकृति दी गई है। उन्होंने बताया कि 250 मीटर लंबा यह तटबंध न केवल नदी के कटाव को रोकेगा, बल्कि बाढ़ के दौरान पानी के दबाव से होने वाले नुकसान को भी कम करेगा। इससे नदी किनारे बसे घर सुरक्षित रहेंगे और लोगों को बार-बार होने वाले नुकसान से राहत मिलेगी। साथ ही, नदी किनारे रहने वाले ग्रामीणों के लिए निस्तारी की सुविधाएं भी बेहतर होंगी।

रामनवमी के शुभ अवसर पर प्रदेश के उप मुख्यमंत्री श्री विजय शर्मा ने कबीरधाम जिले के ग्राम जैतपुरी में विद्युत व्यवस्था को सुदृढ़ करने की दिशा में एक बड़ी सौगात देते हुए 2 करोड़ 98 लाख रुपये की लागत से निर्मित होने वाले 33/11 के.व्ही., 5 एम.वी.ए. क्षमता के नवीन विद्युत उपकेन्द्र का विधिवत भूमि पूजन कर निर्माण कार्य का शुभारंभ किया। इस उपकेन्द्र के स्थापित होने से जैतपुरी सहित आसपास के 12 गांवों के करीब 1 हजार 750 से अधिक उपभोक्ताओं को सीधा लाभ मिलेगा और उन्हें गुणवत्तापूर्ण, नियमित एवं निर्बाध विद्युत आपूर्ति उपलब्ध हो सकेगी। वर्षों से लो वोल्टेज, बार-बार बिजली बाधित होने और लंबी फीडर लाइन की समस्या से जूझ रहे क्षेत्रवासियों को राहत मिलेगी। इस दौरान उप मुख्यमंत्री ने ग्राम जैतपुरी में 5 लाख 20 हजार रुपए के सीसी रोड निर्माण की घोषणा की।

On the third day of the Khelo India Tribal Games, Karnataka delivered an outstanding performance at the international swimming pool, further strengthening its lead in the medal tally. Karnataka has become the first state to win more than 10 gold medals. By the end of Day 3, the state had secured 13 gold, 5 silver, and 1 bronze medal, with all gold medals coming from swimming events.

Manikanta L Shines with Eight Gold Medals

Karnataka’s star swimmer Manikanta L continued his exceptional run, winning two gold and one silver medal on the third day. With eight gold medals so far, he has emerged as the most successful athlete in the competition, playing a key role in Karnataka’s commanding lead.

Intense Competition in Medal Tally

In the medal standings, Odisha is second with 6 gold, 2 silver, and 9 bronze medals, while Assam is third with 2 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze medals. Host state Chhattisgarh, with a total of 6 medals, including 3 silver and 3 bronze, is jointly placed seventh along with Tripura.

Best Performance So Far by Host Chhattisgarh

Athletes from host Chhattisgarh showcased commendable performance on Day 3, winning one silver and two bronze medals. Anushka Bhagat secured her third silver medal of the competition in the women’s 50m backstroke event. Nikhil Jalko clinched bronze in the men’s 50m breaststroke, while Nyasa Paikra added another bronze in the 100m butterfly event, bringing pride to the state.

Maharashtra and Arunachal Pradesh Open Gold Account

Maharashtra and Arunachal Pradesh also made strong performances on Day 3, opening their gold medal tally. Maharashtra’s Tanvi Dhurve won gold in the women’s 100m butterfly event. From Arunachal Pradesh, Anai Wangsu claimed gold in the 58 kg weightlifting category, while Richin Chongruju secured gold in the 79 kg category.

Thrilling Contests in Swimming Events

Swimming competitions witnessed intense battles among athletes. In the women’s 50m backstroke, Karnataka’s Meghanjali won gold, while Chhattisgarh’s Anushka Bhagat secured silver. In the men’s category, Manikanta L dominated by winning gold in both the 50m backstroke and 100m butterfly events. Karnataka’s Dhuneesh N also added a gold in the 50m freestyle.

Strong Performances in Weightlifting

Weightlifting events also saw remarkable performances. Arunachal Pradesh’s Anai Wangsu lifted 169 kg to win gold in the 58 kg category. Odisha’s Bidu Smita Bhoi secured gold in the 63 kg category with a lift of 195 kg. In the men’s events, Mizoram’s MH Silvan Beharothatlo won gold in the 71 kg category, while Arunachal Pradesh’s Richin Chongruju topped the 79 kg category.

Participation from Across the Country

The first edition of the Khelo India Tribal Games is witnessing participation from around 3,800 athletes representing 30 states and union territories. A total of 106 gold medals are at stake across disciplines, including archery, athletics, football, hockey, swimming, weightlifting, and wrestling. Mallakhamb and kabaddi are included as demonstration sports.

More Exciting Competitions Ahead

After three days of competition, 14 states have won at least one medal, and 6 have secured gold. The upcoming days are expected to witness even more thrilling and competitive events as athletes continue to strive for excellence.

The Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 continued to showcase exceptional talent and competitive spirit, with impressive performances in weightlifting and dominant victories in women’s hockey highlighting the growing strength of Tribal athletes.

At the sports complex of Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University in Raipur, Anai Wangsu of Arunachal Pradesh clinched the gold medal in the Senior Women’s 58 kg weightlifting category. Wangsu recorded a total lift of 169 kg, including 74 kg in snatch and 95 kg in clean and jerk, displaying remarkable strength and technique.

Mina Santa of Odisha secured the silver medal with a total lift of 165 kg, while Mina Singh added a bronze medal to Odisha’s tally with 161 kg. The competition also witnessed notable efforts from athletes representing Assam and Andhra Pradesh, reflecting the depth of talent across participating states.

Meanwhile, women’s hockey matches at Raipur’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Hockey Stadium saw emphatic victories. Madhya Pradesh defeated Bihar 9–0, Jharkhand recorded a commanding 16–0 win over Gujarat, and Odisha outplayed Tamil Nadu 14–0, underlining the competitive intensity of the tournament.

The Games have drawn participation from around 3,800 athletes representing 30 states and Union Territories, competing across nine disciplines including archery, athletics, football, hockey, swimming, weightlifting and wrestling. A total of 106 gold medals will be awarded, while Mallakhamb and Kabaddi are being showcased as demonstration events. The event is emerging as a significant national platform for athletes from tribal communities, celebrating excellence and expanding opportunities in Indian sport.

Meanwhile, the spotlight now shifts to Ambikapur in Surguja, where wrestling competitions will begin from March 28 at Gandhi Stadium. A total of 144 wrestlers, both men and women, from about 30 states including Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra and host Chhattisgarh will compete over four days. Matches will be conducted in three daily sessions to ensure smooth participation and spectator engagement.

The competitions will be telecast live on DD Sports and Prasar Bharati, enabling audiences across the country to witness the celebration of tribal sporting excellence. With record-breaking performances and high-energy contests ahead, the Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 continue to inspire emerging athletes and strengthen India’s grassroots sporting ecosystem.
